Also, you can try to go to Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Administrative Tools\Event Viewer and look at any (!) highlited errors - it should say something like:
Description:
DCOM got error "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. " attempting to start the service StiSvc with arguments "" in order to run the server:
{A1F4E726-8CF1-11D1-BF92-0060081ED811}

This is just an example of an error message and NOT the one you're probably getting when undocking
Then come here and tell us what the error is and maybe the community can point to the problem.

If heating is the problem, try Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer (SY-000-AR).
Costs about ú8 and, although you have to remove the current heatsink and fan on your gfx card, it only takes about 5 minutes to do.
